podcast episode is designed to provide a few tips for the beginning blogger, while also giving you an idea of what to expect as that can help you decide if blogging really is for you.

Blogging 1

You don’t need a website or spend a small fortune to get started.
There are several places like Blogger.com, WordPress.com, or numerous other sites that will host your blog. A quick search will give you a full list. They all provide templates to help you quickly get started without knowing any coding. And, the price is right – free. You select your template and background color scheme and now you are good to go.

Decide how and what you will post
It’s really up to you how you want to talk to your readers. Just remember to take a moment before you decide because once your readers get used to a particular style, it’s hard to change horses in the middle of the stream.

Being Consispieces 1tent is a bond between you and your readers
If you tell your readers to expect a once or twice a week post, be sure to post them. This is where your commitment to blogging comes in because there are going to be times when you really don’t want to post, but the beast must be fed. Even if it is not one of your best posts, your readers have made a commitment to follow you, and it is only fair for you to return the favor.

Be prepared for writer’s block (it happens to everyone)
You start your blog and time passes, and before you know it you’ve gotten all of those thoughts on to your blog and you face the computer and draw a blank. It happens to the best of us. Authors call it writers block. Be prepared with a list you can turn to of things you’ve thought about mentioning but put away for a later day. It helps to get the juices flowing.

Layout is everything
Have you ever gone to a blog page and been confronted with nothing but words? The eye becomes overwhelmed when you encounter a page with line after line of text. It helps to put in photos or clipart to give the eye a break from a page of text while adding context to your subject.

Have I covered everything? Not really. But if you are new to blogging and needed a “heads up” listen to the episode for the full list that can help you get started. Blogging is a wonderful adventure where you learn a lot about what makes you tick that allows you to meet all kinds of interesting people, just like you.
