I have stated before that our unconscious mind does not separate imagined from real but simply takes direction and then proceeds to create that reality. Once given directions, our thoughts set up a model or pattern for what is to be created. If we couple strong emotion with this model it proceeds to energize our thoughts and helps to keep you focused on how to create the things you want to bring into your life.
I previously mentioned the situation of the person running while looking backwards and that analogy points out that we get what we focus on because energy flows from our thoughts.
Fear based thoughts create fear based energy and it will not be long before that running person hits something that validates the very thing he was afraid of. It is therefore doubly important that we keep ourselves focused on positive outcomes because they draw to us the things we want.I am certain there are those of you who are thinking “That is easier said than done. I have negative thoughts all the time.” Or, “I try to tell myself not to think negatively but it just happens.” Staying positive is difficult under those circumstances because you are constantly telling yourself NOT to think something. The example I always use to illustrate this point is this: Tell me what happens if I say “Don’t think about a banana!” You instantly thought about a banana didn’t you? That is because you shifted your focus over to the thing you are trying NOT to do.
In that same sense once you recognize a negative thought, challenge
it with a positive one. For example if you find yourself thinking “I can’t do that!” Challenge it with “I do that all the time with very little effort.” Mentally see yourself doing the thing with ease. Enjoy the sensation of how good it feels to be able to do this thing. Really zero in on the mental image of the entire process to get a clear picture of it and then every time that negative thought comes up, throw that image back at it!
Your challenge might not be true right now but it gives your mind the instruction to begin to create it. It gives your imagination permission to go beyond the possible and bring up untold choices and alternatives…
so true, changing your perspective changes the outcome you recieve.
I have adopting a technique pretending to become a Master of my own emotion in order to tame stress. Most of the time, I won’t allow emotions to be my Master. Found your blog by luck.
Very good thought, indeed we are what we think, if we think good things happen in it. Depends on us.

You are so right about fear based thoughts bringing on fear activity… We all have done it… I know my bf has… With him its like a chain reaction and every time I would have to tell him to stop and think… To remind him of past times when he would let whatever fear he had take over his rational thinking…
Chrissy,
Very good, only don’t mention what happened when he did a fearful thing but only on the positive outcome you want as the result. The focus on what happened when he thought negative gives power to the negative thought. When you come up with an alternative positive thought it gives the mind something else to focus on and if there is emotion behind it, it overrides the negative thought.
I get your point, but somehow it doesn’t bother him that I remind him. Strange huh? He seems to like that I remind him … Lately if something does come up he’s the one who reminds me what he did in the past.
Chrissy,
Not strange at all in that he is responding with his conscious mind and it is the unconscious that we are attempting to target and influence. The positive statement sets off neurons in our brain that tells it to focus on this and not that. And, there is something very powerful about our imagination of a thing that makes our unconscious work to make it real. Some people call it mantras and the Bible speaks of meditating on the word day and night.
Your bolg is good, I like it, but mainly u can show the active speak…
This is really true. Once you start saying that something is impossible, you give up. But believing that you can do something gives you the means to do so.
