A recurring theme I have been hearing from clients of late is that they feel stuck in patterns or problems that they cannot imagine escaping. My response is that there is always an answer but you have to allow your imagination free reign to find it.

You have to see yourself becoming the person you want to be. This always gets an odd look, but it is so very true.

Each and everyone of us has been given a wonderful gift, which is our mind. It is a mechanism that records everything we see, say, or do and stores it for future reference. Our imagination serves to provide blue print instructions for it to help us construct the things we want. Our imagination is put into play when we act. I guess you could say that is why it says in the Bible that faith without works is dead. To say we believe something and then sit is not belief at all but simply a statement made without the force to launch it.

Some of you have probably read what I have written above and instantly placed it in the category of positive thinking but this is far from that! Positive thinking is a wish or a hope and let the chips fall where they may.

I am talking about first providing a mental construct or image of where or who you want to be and then behaving as if you already have or have become it.

This is such an important topic that I plan to do a series of posts on the subject. Stay tuned…
