The internet is a strange and magical thing… You know people from all over the world and don’t give a thought to it because distance is not part of the equation.
I say that because last night I learned that a friend of 15 years from Australia had died.

Charles Munster was a friend and yet more… He became the mentor who showed me the ropes during my stay in Sydney and represented what it meant to be Australian. Later, he became the person I always ran to for online advice. He was the kind heart who proudly marveled at the latest accomplishments of his children and Grandchildren; and despite being an Aussie bloke would instantly tear up when he recalled them. Always there with a witty joke and quick smile, I could depend on him for support and comfort as someone who really
knew me and was ever present on the sidelines cheering me on.

He loved my emails detailing the latest adventures because he too was an adventurer. One of those people like me who constantly wondered what was over the next hill and could not wait to strike out to discover it. Even while in the hospital three weeks ago he was still planning new adventures, so you can imagine my surprise when I read the online death notice and realized that Charles was now on the adventure of adventures… into the mystic!

Yes! Your dear friend will now have all the answers to life's questions! Maybe one day we will have an "internet" into this mystic dimension.
Namaste.
Charlotte
Thank you Charlotte,
I don't know about the internet but in a strange and magical way, Charles will always be with me…
You are right he does seem to have a twinkle in his eyes!
I looked up the lyrics to that song and it really is a fitting tribute to Charles who was a sailor:
"We were born before the wind
Also younger than the sun
Ere the bonnie boat was won as we sailed into the mystic
Hark, now hear the sailors cry
Smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic
And when that fog horn blows I will be coming home. And when the fog horn blows I want to hear it, I don't have to fear it."
May he rest in peace!
